I graduated from college last weekend and decided to buy myself a graduation present. So naturally, I bought a World Rally Blue WRX!

Kinja'd!!!

It’s a 6-speed Limited, with leather, moonroof, LED headlights and a short-throw shifter.

Of the four cars I’ve owned, this is the first one with a hood intake, a rear spoiler, quad exhaust pipes, a rear diffuser, and a boost gauge. And I’m proud to be one of the seemingly few Millennials to not only buy a new car, but one with a manual transmission. See, there IS a demand for manuals!

And now I must exercise all my available self-restraint while I baby it through the 1000 mile break-in period. Still debating whether or not to buy some !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

Short throw, eh? That’ll be good in case you need to avoid falling trees.

But seriously, nice ride!

Nice ride! I just bought a Dodge Dart last week and my top requirement was a manual.

Yeah, I couldn’t really manage to keep my car within the break-in period, but maybe you’ll have better luck. Nice choice, and I’d definitely vote for the gold rims.

V nice. Is it viable to get the gold wheels from the STI launch edition? Because those are rad

No boxer rumble - the new WRX has the same FA20 motor as the BRZ (plus a turbo) and equal length headers.

Kinja'd!!!

Definitely go for the gold wheels!

Aw man, that’s Laaaaame. I don’t want one anymore.

Somebody needs to get some unequal headers on there asap.

Skip the gold wheels, keep things visually subdued, and put the money toward a tune.

They exist but the twin scroll turbo doesn't appreciate them so an owner is forced to decide if they want sound or power. That said while quiet the stock exhaust sounds pretty good, not at all ricey. Unfirtunately the aftermarket doesn't seem to know how to build an exhaust for these yet that is louder but not ricey sounding. Not that I've seen yet at least.

I also got one of these a couple weeks ago. Absolutely love it.

If you read forums a lot of people say you’re ok to drive it a little hard and you down right should for short intervals. Just make sure the oil temp is over 150. Which by the way you can modify the triple meter screen of the MFD to show.

Welcome to the club! I bought mine just over a year ago. The day it passed 1,000 mile was GLORIOUS!

From what I’ve read and heard the engines are broke in from the factory.

I still did the 1k miles. Worth protecting your investment IMO.

Love the color! Did you get any STi bits on your car?

Nope no sti bits. My impression was that you can get the same stuff in the aftermarket cheaper. After driving it for a few weeks I’m not sure it needs much modding. Definitely wheels this winter though and brake pads before an HDPE maybe try to get my hands on sti brake calipers and discs and see if those’ll fit.

Lol, no. If I hadn’t secured a job, I would still be driving the B7 A4 2.0T that I traded for the WRX. Which wouldn’t have been a hardship since the Audi’s original Florida owner kept it absolutely pristine, even with 110K miles on the odometer.
